Dr. Said Ladki

Interim Dean, Adnan Kassar School of Business

Dr. Said Ladki was appointed Interim Dean of the Adnan Kassar School of Business in June 2013.

His past academic appointments with LAU include Associate Professor with tenure between 1999 and 2004, and Professor since 2003. He has chaired the Marketing and Hospitality Department since 2002 and was Acting Assistant Dean for a short period in 2009. In 2000, he founded the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management Studies, which he still heads.

Prior to joining LAU, Dr. Ladki was an assistant professor at the West Virginia University (WVU) between 1989 and 1994 and associate professor at the Georgia Southern University from 1994 to 1996.

Dr. Ladki has published dozens of scientific articles in leading international journals and proceedings of renowned international conferences. He was also member of the editorial board of three journals, and continues to serve as anonymous reviewer for refereed journals in his field.

From 2008 to 2011, Dr. Ladki led the Lebanese operations of Norwegian Peopleís Aid, an NGO which provides health care to pregnant women and infants, among other relief services. Under his leadership, the NPA received a $70,000 grant from the Japanese Embassy in Lebanon to purchase specialized medical equipment.

Dr. Ladki is affiliated with numerous professional boards and consults with many firms in Lebanon and the Middle East.

Dr. Ladki earned a B.S. from Oklahoma State University in Hotel and Restaurant Management in 1987, an M.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Hospitality and Tourism in 1989, and a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in Hospitality and Tourism Management in 1993.
