The Lebanese American university (LAU) is a leading, private and nonsectarian higher education institution in Lebanon. It operates under the charter from the board of regents of the university of the state of New York and is accredited by the commission on institutions of higher education of the New England Association of Schools and colleges.
In the Fall 2012 semester, LAU had more than 8,100 students enrolled.
