   Arab World, LAU, Lebanon.
3. Mr. Bahij Hojeij, Professor of Cinema, Faculte des Beaux Arts, Lebanese
   University.
4. Ms. Tima Khalil, Producer/Director, Fantascope Production.
5. Mr. Wael Kheir, Managing Director, Foundation for Human and
   Humanitarian Rights.
6. Ms. Carole Mansour, Filmmaker.
7. Ms. Mai Masri, Film Director.
8. Dr. Ogarit Younan, Sociologist, Writer and Co - Founder of the Arab
   University for Non - Violence.

Terms of Reference

General

The cadency of the Panel of Judges is directly related to the 1st Edition of the Beirut Human Rights Film Festival 2008.

Composition

1. The Panel of Judges is composed of 8 members, 4 film experts/professors, 3 human rights activists and 1 academic professional.
2. The Panel of Judges members are designated by Beirut Human Rights Film festival management based on the suggestions done by the organizer and partners of the BHRFF 2008.

Role

1. The Panel of Judges is responsible for selecting three prize-winning films:
   • 1st Prize $ 3000
   • 2nd Prize $ 2000
   • 3rd Prize $ 1000
2. Choosing the winning films will have the approval of a two thirds majority of the panel.

Terms

The term of Panel of Judges members last for the period of l month-October 2008.

Criteria for Film Selection

During the film evaluation process the Jury will take into consideration the following:

1. Clarity of message
2. Research, artistic and technical qualities
3. Relation to situation in Lebanon and/or the Middle East and supported by real life examples
