Launching ceremony

The Launching ceremony took place on 19 February 2008 at LAU Beirut campus. The speeches were given by representatives of the organizations implementing and supporting the project.

LAU President Dr. Jabbra; H.E. Mr. Robert Zeldenrust, Head of the Mission of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Beirut; the speech of Mr. Fateh Azzam Regional Representative of UN OHCHR Regional Office for the Middle East was read by Mr. Nabil Rawdah; Mr. Patricio Cuevas, Advocacy and Protection Manager of World Vision Lebanon; Dr. Fuad Hashwa, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences in LAU Byblos; and Dr. Walid E. Moubarak, IDCT Director.

“We thought of an innovative and pioneering way to pursue our goal by promoting human rights through … the art of filming,” said IDCT Director Dr. Walid Moubarak.

The ceremony was attended by VIPs, international organizations, NGOs, government, diplomatic missions' representatives. The event was inaugurated by screening the clip and film on "Right to education" produced by Fantascope.
