INSTITUTE FOR BANKING AND FINANCE

Summer 2003 Seminars

The Impact of the New USA PATRIOT Act on Foreign Banks Operating in and Outside the U.S.

July 3, 2003 / 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
First-Time Seminar in Lebanon
Seminar leader: Roger Morin

Signed into law by President George W. Bush on October 26, 2001, this new legislation is being carefully studied by U.S. financial institutions because it takes the industry into much deeper water when cross-checking customer data on existing and new accounts. But the law also creates new rules for how U.S. banks do business with foreign banks as well.

This one-day seminar will inform participants about what U.S. bankers are doing to ensure they are in compliance with the new act. We will discuss the new requirements U.S. bankers must follow and what foreign banks can expect when conducting business with U.S. banks.
