Educational Kits
Basic living skills program (BLSP), (2003), (in Arabic):
A non-formal integrated educational kit geared towards illiterate and semi-literate women in the Arab world. It is available in both hard and digitized forms and includes:
- 11 units on: health, the environment, nutrition, reproductive health, childhood to adolescence, civic education, legal rights (Lebanon), women’s empowerment, women’s empowerment through work, chronic diseases, and special needs: physical and mental disabilities.
- DVDs telling stories of women from Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia, and Yemen.
- A training guide for the implementation of the program.
- Evaluation forms to assess the impact of the program on women’s lives and achievements.
- A CD-ROM covering all the program material and many tools to facilitate the learning process such as games, illustrations, posters, colored pictures, documents, and case studies.
Empowering Arab women through literacy (2005):
- A kit with a series of 12 second-level literacy booklets that addresses, through short stories, issues such as civic education and conflict control, women’s empowerment, violence against women, health, and the environment.
- An instructor’s guide with general guidelines for trainers, along with exercises related to the stories in the 12 booklets.
