Course Outline
In the recent few years, the Unified Modeling Language (UML) has become the international standard modeling language for software analysis and design. In this two-day course, we cover the main features of UML, including:
- Overview of Object Orientedness
- Overview of UML
- Basic Structural Modeling: classes and relationships; common mechanisms; class diagrams.
- Basic Behavioral Modeling: use cases and UC diagrams; collaboration diagrams; sequence diagrams; activity diagrams.
- Advanced Structural Modeling: advanced classes and relationships; packages; object diagrams.
- Advanced Behavioral Modeling: events and signals; state machines; statechart diagrams.

Expected participants are: software developers and practitioners; software project managers; graduate students.

Date: January 16-17 (Friday and Saturday), 2004
Time: Friday January 16: 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. / Saturday January 17: 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Place: LAU, Beirut Campus, Irwin Hall, Conference Room.

Registration, Fees and Deadline
Registration fees are $200 per person (includes coffee breaks
and handouts), to be paid at LAU, Beirut, Business Office,
Irwin Hall, Ground Floor (regular opening hours are 9:00 AM - 12:00
noon and 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM).
The deadline for registration and payment is Friday January 9, or until the class is full (limited places).
