Update from the President regarding May 14
— posted Tue May 13, 2008 at 12:48 PM
Dear Colleagues, Friends, and Students,
As promised, we are coming back to you with an update regarding tomorrow, May 14, 2008. The President, Vice Presidents, and the Deans met this morning at 9:00am, and the following decisions were taken in light of the prevalent situation in Lebanon:
- Faculty and Staff. The University, with its two campuses in Byblos and Beirut, will be open on May 14, 2008. Again here, we ask faculty and staff before traveling to either campus, to use their judgment in assessing road conditions and in always being mindful of their personal safety.
- Faculty and Students. Given the prevalent situation in the country, there will be no classes tomorrow, May 14, 2008. We would like to inform our students again that we are in the process of preparing an academic schedule for them so that they may be able to make up for lost classes and accordingly, complete the semester.
We will, on a daily basis, keep you informed of any changes in schedule.
We pray for the safety of all the members of the LAU family and for peace in our beloved Lebanon.
Thank you and please keep safe.
Joseph G. Jabbra
President
