The Department of Social Sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate in Social Work and Community Development in the Beirut campus. The department is seeking a highly qualified and motivated full-time faculty member who is committed to innovative teaching, research, academic advising and institutional and community service. Candidates must hold a PhD in Social Work and /or Community Development. They will teach undergraduate courses in Social Work and Community Development, and in research methodology with emphasis on quantitative methods. They should also contribute to the development of the program, seek external research grants, and perform academic services to the Department and the University. Candidates need to demonstrate knowledge/expertise in the social welfare domain in the Arab region. Knowledge/expertise in social welfare in Lebanon is a plus.

The Department of Social Sciences (http://sas.lau.edu.lb/social-sciences/) is one of the seven departments of the School of Arts and Sciences (http://sas.lau.edu.lb/). It offers a B.A. degree in Political Science, a B.A. in Political Science/International Affairs, a B.A. in Psychology, a B.A. in Social Work, and an M.A. degree in International Affairs.
