The Department of Education at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applications for a position at the rank of Visiting Professor, beginning on September 1st, 2015.

The Department of Education (http://sas.lau.edu.lb/education/) offers a B.A. and an M.A. in Education and a Teaching Diploma. Our programs prepare future teachers with knowledge related to pedagogy, subject matter, curriculum, and child psychology, allowing them to develop practical skills in teaching, motivation, critical thinking, and classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Teach general education courses at the undergraduate and graduate level based on program needs
• Engage in scholarly research, in cooperation with the faculty in the department.
• Perform various services to the department, School of Arts and Sciences, University

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned a doctorate in Education, with emphasis on science education, by the date of appointment
• Teaching experience at the university level
• Has expertise in one or more of the following: education technology, teacher training, community education, grant writing, research methods, curriculum development, differentiated instruction, and instructional strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Evidence of successful university teaching.
• Knowledge of effective teaching strategies.
