The Department of Communication Arts at the Lebanese American University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. Prospective applicants must possess a doctoral degree or a terminal degree in cinematic art (television, film) and demonstrate a record of achievement in film studies/filmmaking. The selected candidate is expected to play an instrumental role in implementing the new program in Television and Film; and to work with other faculty in the Department on implementing other related BA programs.

The Department of Communication Arts (http://sas.lau.edu.lb/communication-arts/programs/) is one of the seven departments of the School of Arts and Sciences (http://sas.lau.edu.lb/). It currently offers a BA in Communication Arts, the Department’s flagship program, which has three emphases: Journalism, TV/Film, and Theater. It houses an up-to-date television/film studio, two prominent and well-equipped theaters (Irwin and Gulbenkian) in Beirut and (Selina Kurban) in Byblos. The three offer venues for stage performances, concerts, dance shows, film screenings, theatre workshops, and special events. The department produces a number of major theatre and musical productions every year and around 25 student productions.
