The Department of English in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applicants to a full time faculty position at the instructor rank. The department is interested in applicants with expertise in English Language and who can contribute to department and school initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Advise and mentor students
- Engage in service to the department, the university and the profession.
- Additional duties may be set by the department in light of departmental needs and priorities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- An Earned M.A. in English or TEFL/TESL or equivalent from a recognized institution
- Evidence of successful university teaching (3-5 years minimum)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstration of Computer Assisted Language Learning experience
- Demonstration of effective teaching strategies, including assessment practices, and additional skills as deemed relevant by the department

The Department of English consists of 32 full-time faculty and a number of part-time faculty. The faculty of the Department of English is dedicated to excellence in teaching and is engaged in research and service.
