Position Summary
The Department of English in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applicants to a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor rank. The department is interested in applicants specializing in Creative Writing and Multimedia who can contribute to multiple program, department and school initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in multimedia storytelling (creating content, storyboards, photography, scripts, audio and video recording and editing, and technological know-how)
- Teach new media adaptation (of story content into multiple platforms)
- Teach digital media in theory and practice
- Teach other courses based on program needs
- Oversee senior projects
- Advise and mentor students
- Engage in service to the department, the university and the profession
- Additional duties may be set by the department in light of departmental needs and priorities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- An M.F.A. or Ph.D. from a recognized institution
- Evidence of scholarship and research
- Evidence of professional creative writing
- Evidence of successful university teaching (minimum 3-5 years)
- Demonstration of effective teaching methods and delivery
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to teach English language courses
