The Department of Education at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant /Associate/Full Professor in Science Education.

The Department of Education (http://sas.lau.edu.lb/education/) offers a B.A. and an M.A. in Education and a Teaching Diploma. Our programs prepare future teachers with knowledge related to pedagogy, subject matter, curriculum, and child psychology, allowing them to develop practical skills in teaching, motivation, critical thinking, and classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in science education as well as general education courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Follow up on students practicum components.
• Develop and maintain an active scholarly research agenda.
• Advise undergraduate and graduate students.
• Perform various services to the department, School of Arts and Sciences, University and profession.

Qualifications 
Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned a doctorate in Education from a recognized university, with emphasis on science education, by the date of appointment
• Teaching experience at the university level 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Evidence of successful university teaching.
• Skills in technology and assessment practices
• Knowledge of effective teaching strategies.
