The Lebanese American University (www.lau.edu.lb) invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the School of Nursing. The Lebanese American University is a leading higher education institution in the Middle East operating on two campuses Beirut and Byblos and currently enrolling more than 7000 students. The University is currently in the process of implementing a School of Medicine and a School of Nursing. It is also implementing a dynamic five-year strategic plan aimed at ensuring its continued pursuit of academic excellence.
The Dean of the School of Nursing is the chief academic and administrative officer of the school and is responsible for all matters relating to academic leadership, external relations and administration including academic programs, faculty, staff and students. As the chief executive officer of the School of Nursing, the dean will set standards of intellectual engagement and accomplishment for the school. The dean will provide strategic vision and operational leadership to all aspects of the academic and scholarly program, creating an environment and community that supports the school’s faculty and its students.
The successful candidate should have leadership capabilities, strong administrative experience, the ability to support teaching and research innovation, recruit and develop a diverse faculty and foster interdisciplinary collaboration with other academic programs within the University and community.
