The Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW) at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applicants for a visiting faculty position in the field of Interdisciplinary Gender Studies. Candidates must hold a Doctorate degree in a pertinent Social Science or other related field. Preferences are for candidates with interdisciplinary research specialty in Development issues, Public Policy and/or Human Rights issues from a feminist perspective. Prospective applicants must demonstrate a commitment to foreground the intersectionality of gender/race/class with a focus on the Arab/Muslim world.

The successful candidate will be housed at the IWSAW, and will be expected to teach core courses in the Interdisciplinary Gender Studies program and engage in gender-related research and projects. He/She should be able to develop and manage grant proposals.

The Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW)
IWSAW teaches about women and gender in regional, transnational, and global contexts from an intersectional perspective, one that is grounded in a social justice framework. It was established in 1973, and was the first academic institute for women studies of its kind in the entire Arab world. It publishes a pioneering double-blind, peer-reviewed English language academic journal (Al-Raida), and offers an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Gender Studies (IGS), in addition to a minor in Gender Studies.
