The School of Pharmacy at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. LAU is a leading higher education institution in the Middle East operating on two campuses, Beirut and Byblos, Lebanon, and enrolling about 8000 students. LAU is chartered by the Regents of the State University of New York, and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The School of Pharmacy enrolls over 500 students and offers a BS in Pharmacy and a PharmD program that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). The School of Pharmacy is committed to achieving and sustaining the highest quality of pharmacy education and pharmaceutical research in the region.

Position Summary:

The candidate will be expected to teach in a variety of pharmacy courses based on his/her area of specialty and expertise, actively seek research grants and extramural funding, and provide service to the School of Pharmacy. The candidate will also support the School administrative initiatives and actively contribute to the ACPE accreditation process.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a terminal degree in pharmacy preferably a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and a PhD in a pharmacy-related field. The candidate must have at least 7-10 years of continuous professional academic work experience in a School of Pharmacy with a documentation of teaching effectiveness in a classroom setting and/or experiential education and steady scholarly productivity. Desired qualifications include having extensively worked in an ACPE-accredited School or College of Pharmacy with experience and involvement in curricular development, assessment and evaluation, mentoring faculty and students, and a substantial track record of successfully and independently conducting research and scholarly projects. The candidate must demonstrate professional commitment, leadership abilities, superior team work approach, effective verbal and writing communication skills in English, and the skills to effectively function in an interdisciplinary academic environment.
