The School of Pharmacy at the Lebanese American University (LAU) is inviting applications for full-time clinical faculty in the Pharmacy Practice Department.
LAU is a leading higher education institution in the Middle East operating on two campuses, Beirut and Byblos Lebanon, and enrolling over 8000 students. The School of Pharmacy enrolls over 450 students and offers a BS in Pharmacy, and a PharmD program that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). Position Summary
Successful candidates are expected to teach a variety of topics in pharmacy and therapeutics; develop practice sites and provide interdisciplinary patient care at LAU Medical Center; precept pharmacy students; conduct research and publish scholarly work; provide service to the school, university, and practice site; contribute to the school’s continuous quality improvement initiatives and assessment; and participate in the school’s accreditation process.
Desired Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have: a PharmD degree; completed a PGY1 ASHP-accredited residency; experience in didactic and experiential education of pharmacy students; interdisciplinary clinical practice experience in U.S. hospitals/health-systems; scholarly publications; and licensure or eligibility for pharmacist licensure in Lebanon. Completion of a PGY2 residency and/or fellowship; documented evidence of research output; academic work in school/college of pharmacy; and Board certification are highly desirable.
Successful candidates must demonstrate effective verbal and writing communication skills, and team work abilities; promise for generating independent/collaborative research; commitment to professional development; and creative skills to programmatic and curricular initiatives.
