The School of Architecture and Design (http://sard.lau.edu.lb/) is dedicated to developing a design culture founded on the principles of Liberal Education, while meeting the challenges of the contemporary world. The school has an enrollment of 1200 students and a full-time faculty of 27 members, distributed across its three departments:

The school is currently in the process of applying for professional accreditation for all its major programs, as well as studying the feasibility of offering masters degrees in various design fields.

The School of Architecture and Design is seeking to fill the position of Associate Dean. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the dean in overseeing the various programs as far as curricular development, accreditation, development of assessment procedures, and will represent the school on various university committees. S/he is expected to teach in their area of expertise at the reduced load of 12 credits/year.

Minimum Requirements:
Candidates should have a terminal degree, preferably a PhD, in any of the design fields, in addition to administrative experience, and should be at the rank of Associate Professor or above.

Duration of position:
This position will open in Fall 2016. The contract term for an Associate Dean is renewed on a yearly basis pending satisfactory performance.
