The Department of Design at the School of Architecture & Design invites applicants for a Part-Time Instructor position for fall 2015.
The candidate should have a Textiles or equivalent degree, as well as being a dedicated and enthusiastic professional. Ability to fit in and become part of a team is essential. He should combine teaching skills with an outstanding record in Textile practice and are aware of the latest textile trends. He should have specialist knowledge of traditional and non-traditional textile practice including developing repeat pattern for digital printing. The course to be taught is Designer Fabrics.

Designer Fabrics FAS483
This intermediate studio develops processes essential in the production of unique fabrications for fashion and accessory design. In this course students explore themes that challenge and re-define boundaries within their practice by producing mixed process sampling. The outcome of this studio sees in-depth research, development of concept through to industry standard sampling and an understanding of the intended market level.  As part of this course students are expected to use digital printing processes as well as liaising with artisans and specialist suppliers. Students learn through demonstrations, practical workshop exercises and individual tutorials.

Minimum Requirements: Textile degree with Teaching Experience in textile design.
Duration of position: This position will open in fall 2015 (which starts in September 2015).
