The Department of Art and Design in the School of Architecture & Design invites applicants for a Part-Time Instructor position for fall 2016. The candidate should have a degree in art or design. She/he should combine an aptitude for teaching with current practices in contemporary art/design. The candidate should be highly knowledgeable on the integral role of drawing to disciplines in art and design. She/he should be very capable of teaching a rigorous and stimulating drawing course.

The course to be taught is Drawing I.

ART 221 Drawing I
A study of basic drawing techniques in various media with regard to landscape, still life and the human figure.

Minimum Requirements: MA or MFA in art, design or related field

Duration of position: This position will open in fall 2016 (which starts at the end of August 2016).

  1. Professional portfolio with examples of drawing/illustration works
    (PDF, 15 pages maximum)
  2. Teaching portfolio with examples of syllabi and students’ work 
    (PDF, 15 pages maximum)
