The Department of Civil Engineering, housing an ABET-accredited undergraduate civil engineering program, at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Civil Engineering effective September 2018. Highly qualified candidates with specialization in construction management, geotechnical engineering, or transportation engineering/systems are particularly encouraged to apply. The position will be at the assistant professor rank but qualified candidates with established teaching and research credentials may be considered at higher ranks. Visiting faculty positions at all ranks will also be considered for one year appointment, extendable to two years.

Candidates must have an undergraduate degree and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, (with preference given to those who have U.S. experience in teaching or industry, and to holders of P.E. licenses). Postdoctoral experience and/or expertise in teaching will be an advantage. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate- and graduate-level courses, build a strong research program, attract external funding, advise undergraduate and graduate students, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in service activities in the department, School and the University.
