Visiting Faculty, Fashion Design
The Department of Art & Design in the School of Architecture & Design at the Lebanese American University is now accepting applications for a visiting faculty at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor levels, or Lecturer level, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is for the academic year 2019-20, with the successful candidate teaching studios that take the student from research and design all the way through to garment manufacture. A proven track record also demonstrates how students mature into fashion designers with a clear vision and identity. This role supports and develops the emerging aesthetic of contemporary practice within the program. Young designers are exploring menswear, womenswear, unisex outcomes, tailoring, textiles, contour/ sportswear in a multi-disciplinary program that nurtures individual practice. The successful candidate will be able to work across a number of interconnected disciplines and with a team who strive for excellence.
Minimum Requirements: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or a Master’s Degree in Fashion Design with teaching experience.
This position will be open in fall 2019, which starts by mid-August and is renewed on a yearly basis according to university policies that apply to visiting faculty.
