Accounting Supervisor – Beirut Campus

The Finance Department is currently looking for an Accounting Supervisor reporting to the Comptroller.
Role Summary
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for processing accurately and timely receivable module transactions as well as all journal vouchers within the accounting systems as well as coordinating the receivables and GL system parameters in terms of codes and accounts.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepares and verifies all transactions related to the general ledger accounts as well as journal vouchers
- Verifies general purposes invoices into the Oracle financial system on a timely basis and books these invoices to the appropriate accounts and the relevant cost centers; follows up on settlement of these invoices
- Verifies and communicates issues related to operating budgets
- Prepares the monthly accruals and provisions
- Reviews and approves selected transactions and transactions related to his team
- Coordinates the changes in the set-up of the chart of accounts and the changes in processes. Ensures proper set-up of the Oracle receivable module
- Performs other duties pertinent to this role and other roles
- Performs monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts; prepares general ledger and receivables reports and prepares the analysis of the accounts and the pending issues; assists in preparing the closing file; prepares selected banks’ reconciliations and banks’ positions
- Coordinates and supervises the work of the subordinates to ensure proper coverage, business continuity and meeting agreed deadlines
- Ensures that subordinates are well aware of their duties & responsibilities vis a vis attendance, productivity and other pertinent issues
- Ensures monitoring the performance of his/her subordinates and setting up plans for them to improve
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree with relevant specialization
- Minimum 7-8 years’ relevant experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong English and Arabic verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office skills and Oracle E-Business Suite; ability to use ERP systems; knowledge of Banner and People 365 is of added value
