The Riyad Nassar Library is currently looking for a Library Assistant- Cataloging & Metadata to be located in Beirut Campus.
Position Summary:
The Library Assistant – Cataloging & Metadata is mainly responsible for performing bibliographic searches using manual and automated files. Helps in training student assistants in the cataloging department.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs bibliographic searches using manual and automated files, attaches items to bibliographic files already automated. Helps in marking of books
- Updates the library online catalog
- Supervises and trains student assistants and part-time assistants
- Participates in the Library’s periodic physical counts when needed
- Performs other duties and responsibilities pertinent to this job as assigned or appropriate
Qualifications:
- B.E., B.A. or B.S. or equivalent to Bachelor degree from a renowned university
- At least 0-1 years of experience in libraries
- Good research skills
- Good English written and oral skills
- Computer literate
