The Physical Plant Office is currently looking for a Senior Electrical Technician to be located in Beirut Campus.
This position will work in power plant testing, operating and troubleshooting medium voltage (11kV and below) and station service electrical equipment such as motors, and motor controls, switchgear, transformers, voltage regulators, electrical protective devices, main and auxiliary generators, lighting power supplies, and battery support systems. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting, and following up on the maintenance activities for such equipment.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Install, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and overhaul medium voltage power plant generation and auxiliary electrical equipment.
- Initiate reports and records associated with the electrical systems of the plant.
- Document all work, and reports as necessary
- Operate and troubleshoot load management systems, panels and software.
- Evaluate equipment failures and implement methods and procedures to prevent reoccurrence.
- Coordinate with plant Operations staff and Maintenance staff for all maintenance activities.
- Interface with Control Room on Plant Operations and Maintenance
- Operate, maintain and repair diesel generators (alternators and motors) and associated control panels.
- Perform troubleshooting and detailed fault analysis.
- Keep logs and gather data.
- Ensure generators are in best possible condition.
- Check and replace oil, oil filters, air filters and other generator consumables, parts and accessories as needed.
- Operate and troubleshoot generator control panels.
- Act as liaison between management and maintenance companies.
- Operate and maintain systems pertaining to the Operations and Maintenance, including but not limited to: Building Management Systems, Safety Systems, Monitoring Systems, Electrical Power and Lighting Systems, and other systems as assigned.
- Perform all required Electrical installation and reparation works for the existing systems mentioned above.
- Perform daily inspection for above systems.
- Perform and implement the preventive maintenance programs for above systems.
- Provide maintenance for above systems through necessary repairs.
- Supervise, assist, or carry out the installation of above systems when needed.
- Establish & maintain job-related files, reports, training material and support contracts.
- Handle all job-related correspondence (reports, memo, emails, and faxes) and communication pertinent to the assigned tasks.
- Perform other duties pertinent to this job as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BT or TS degree in a related field from a renowned technical school.
- Minimum 7 years of experience, 4 of which in a similar position.
- Good computer skills in MS Outlook, excel, word and internet search.
- Acceptable verbal and written English and Arabic skills.
- Ability to learn the operation of specialized computer applications through reading manuals (in English).
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Physically fit to perform above duties.
