The Human Resources Department is currently looking for a Staff Development Specialist/Senior Specialist. The position is based at LAU’s Beirut Campus. Commuting to Byblos Campus is required.
The Staff Development Specialist/Senior Specialist is mainly responsible for coordinating all University staff training and development activities.
Basic Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying training and development needs within the University.
- Compile a database of training seminars providers and their detailed service offerings.
- Assist in designing training curriculum and programs to include external training and internal training through available resources within the University (CEP, schools, etc.).
- Conduct yearly training needs assessment based on staff performance appraisal results and feedback from unit heads.
- Assist in developing and implementing yearly training budget and plan.
- Assist in forecasting 3 to 5 years training budget and plans.
- Assist in developing University guidelines for various training formats.
- Assist in negotiating contracts with trainers, including approved training formats, desired training outcomes, fees and expenses.
- Coordinate the scheduling and delivery of training sessions across the University.
- Monitor the performance of external and internal training service providers.
- Assist in evaluating training and development programs, ensuring that statutory training requirements and desired training outcomes are met, amending and revising programs as necessary.
- Where necessary, assist in developing training documentations, presentations, and materials; working with specialists and university entities for specific details.
- Assist in administering the staff performance appraisal system.
- Assist in managing the job analysis function through continuous updating of job descriptions.
- Provide written reports, data analysis, recommendations and presentations to management as required.
Job Qualifications:
- BA/BS from a recognized university. MBA/MS in HR or HR Certification is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness with attention to details in all work undertaken.
- Well-developed High level interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent team player with a commitment to building a positive team spirit.
- Ability to uphold organizational values.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
