The Human Resources Department is currently looking for a Staff Relations & Development Deputy Director/Director. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Human Resources. It is a central position based in Beirut Campus with required commutes to Byblos Campus.
Role Summary
The Staff Relations & Development Deputy Director/Director is responsible for managing staff relations & integration activities, staff training & development programs, staff performance management and organizational development initiatives.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages the On-boarding program and other integration initiatives of new staff members into LAU Community.
- Supervises the preparation of new full-time staff contracts, ensuring compliance with approved compensation and benefits policies and with regulatory requirements.
- Supervises file establishment and HRMS record creation of new full-time staff members.
- Manage staff retention initiatives ensuring LAU’s human capital is efficiently utilized.
- Provides guidance and support to staff and supervisors to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Manages staff complaints in line with approved staff grievances policies & procedures.
- Conducts exit interviews and reports findings and recommendations.
- Manages yearly training needs assessment and develops yearly training plans and budgets.
- Monitors and supervises the implementation of university-wide staff development plans.
- Manages the Performance Appraisal cycle for all staff members across LAU.
- Assumes custody and updates the University’s organizational charts and staff grading grid.
- Provides support for re-structuring and re-grading initiatives.
- Manages HR communications & social activities, and oversees staff portal and website.
- Acts as a resource for management and various LAU constituents advising on HR policies & procedures, staff training & development programs, staff performance management and organizational development initiatives.
- Responds to Management enquiries and data requests, and generates regular and ad-hoc reports, as required.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business from a renowned university, preferably in Human Resources or Management. A master’s degree is a plus
- 10-15 years of relevant work experience
- Good knowledge of the Lebanese Labor Law and NSSF regulations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle E-Business Suite
- Excellent communication skills

- Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness with attention to details in performing work duties
