Mission and goals
Mission Statement
The Institutional Research and Assessment Office at the Lebanese American University, established in October 2008, is charged with establishing a central data base for the University and ensuring the integrity and reliability of information to support effective decision making, planning and policy formulation.
Goals
The goals of the Institutional Research and Assessment Office are:
- Establishing a central data base for the institution and providing the University community with accurate, reliable and timely information to support decision making and associated accreditation and institutional effectiveness efforts.
- Coordinating, implementing and analyzing of various decision-supporting studies facilitating strategic planning and various University planning activities.
- Supporting the analysis and dissemination of data for academic planning and enrollment management.
- Supporting of academic program review by analyzing, assessing, and/or evaluating program and student outcomes.
- Directing the preparation of the annual fact book with data related to students, faculty, staff and facilities.
- Preparing the various reports that LAU files annually with the array of regulatory and research entities to which it is accountable in its educational, research, and public-service activities.
- Coordinating the University’s responses to external requests for information.
- Providing support for research activities such as survey instrument design, research methodology and analysis carried out by the various offices, departments and schools across campuses.
- Initiating major research projects to further the goals of the University.
