New email system for students
What happens if I don’t switch by the deadline?
You will not have an LAU email account. As a result:
- You will lose access to LAU’s wireless internet connection.
- You will lose external access to these services (you won’t be able to log in from home and other locations):
- BLUE course evaluation system
- Blackboard
- Zportal
- Library databases
- Financial aid system
- You will no longer be listed in the LAU Directory.
- You will not receive email notifications directly from the university.
This is also the case for those who disagree with the terms and conditions of the new system.
Switch your account
- Log in to https://iam.lau.edu.lb/firstlogon with your current email username and password.
- Change your password to a new one. Make it complex: Use 8–16 characters, and include at least 1 letter, 1 number and 1 special character. For example: mynewpwd1234#.
- Fill in three questions and answers of your choice. Remember these answers in order to reset your password by yourself, if you need so in the future.
- Agree to the terms and conditions.
- Go to www.outlook.com and log on with your entire new email address as username (username@lau.edu) and your new password.
