Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Developing strategies and integrated execution plans that achieve clearly defined business-development objectives, focusing on building high‐value business partnerships with other universities, governmental agencies, industries, private and public institutions to make a remarkable impact and achieve the University’s mission and goals.
- Leading a business development team both in Lebanon and across international borders.
- Developing, leading and implementing a cohesive strategic plan for the University global business development, focusing on the University’s strength and particular resources.
- Establishing and developing the University’s arm that will plan, develop and operate physical campuses and business ventures across the region and the globe.
- Working on the expansion of the University’s continuing education efforts and programs, locally and internationally, through the Continuing Education Office.
- Coordinating and marketing its “Online Teaching” business in coordination with the relevant schools and external learning platform. The development of the University’s consulting arm through the delivery of consulting services to the public and private sectors, locally, regionally and internationally
- Developing close collaborative and mutually beneficial relationship with local and global industries to create industry-academia collaboration both on and off-campus for the faculty and students’ internship opportunities and job opportunities for graduates
Minimum Required Qualifications
- University graduate with ideally a Masters or MBA or Ph.D. from a reputable University.
- Around 20 years of overall experience in the business development field with a minimum of 10 years in a senior managerial role such as Business Development Director or Senior Business Development Manager or Executive Director within well-established Universities or Organizations in Lebanon and/or the region.
- Experience in the Education Sector is highly recommended.
- Bilingual: Arabic and English; French is a plus.
- Good Business acumen.
- Strong team leader and motivator.
- Good ability to structure, negotiate, and contract collaborative partnerships and agreements with a track record of success.
- Good networking skills especially across the academic landscape.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with employees and stakeholders at all levels and to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Strategic thinker, visionary, innovative and creative.
- Resourceful, doer and result oriented. Excellent communication, listening, negotiation and reporting skills.
