The Registrar Office is currently looking for a Student Information System Coordinator (SIS Coordinator) reporting to the University Registrar. This position is based on Beirut Campus with occasional commuting to Byblos campus.
Role Summary
The SIS Coordinator manages Banner records for integrity, accuracy and consistency. He/she researches, explores, and recommends new advanced features of Ellucian SIS software. Additionally, in coordination with the IT Department, he/she manages Ellucian Banner SIS modifications, process improvements, system upgrades, testing, implementation and communication plans with the LAU community at large. He/she maintains and updates Ellucian Banner features (CAPP degree evaluations, Waitlist, etc.) and provides training to advisors and students.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages SIS records for integrity, accuracy and consistency
- Implements with IT department any SIS program modifications, improvements, or system upgrades
- Maintains and updates the CAPP module and prepares CAPP related documentation
- Provides SIS related program training to advisors & students
- Runs and maintains SIS jobs and features related to programs and students’ records
- Updates the SIS access privileges
- Maintains the academic course catalogue module in SIS
- In coordination with the Associate Registrar, he/she creates and updates contract sheets for the different majors as per School requirements
- Examines SIS related problems, difficulties and complaints and acts upon them
- Plans communication related to SIS matters with the LAU community at large
- Researches advanced features of Ellucian software and communicates with Ellucian regarding queries
- Implements new features by Ellucian in coordination with IT department
- Performs other duties and responsibilities pertinent to this job as assigned or appropriate
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree, with specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Computer Engineering, or relevant field
- Minimum 6 years of work experience (4 of which in a university setting and 2 of which in a similar capacity)
- Technical knowledge of student information database system and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Ellucian Banner is a plus
- Strong communication skills in oral and written English
- Advanced presentation skills
- Analytical thinking and ability to initiate improvements
- High spirit of integrity and confidentiality
- Great team player
