US Ambassador Vincent Battle presented LAU President Riyad Nassar a $594,000 check aimed at providing full scholarships to 200 students and developing research on air pollution’s impact on health in cities and industrial areas.
USAID Lebanon Director Raouf Youssef was also on hand at the Lebanese American University ceremony March 14, 2003. USAID’s assistance to American educational institutions is an integral part of the US Government’s economic assistance program for Lebanon.
