The Lebanese American University, department of Natural Sciences, invites applicants for a tenured track faculty position in Organic Chemistry starting in the academic year 2012-2013. Successful candidates must have:

  1. A PhD in Organic Chemistry with solid experience in the field.
  2. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research.
  3. Extensive experience in the use of NMR, IR, GC, LC, LCMS, GPC, and MS, among others.
  4. Good Skills in chemical synthesis, polymer synthesis and properties, catalysis, and asymmetric synthesis, which can be adapted to biological systems.

The incumbent is expected to teach, on both Beirut and Byblos LAU Campuses, a variety of courses in organic and general chemistry; to actively participate in innovative and independent research that leads to international refereed publications; to supervise graduate students; and to perform academic services to the Department and to the University.
