Chief Resident in Internal Medicine

The Internal Medicine Residency Program committee is pleased to announce the opening of the Chief Resident position (PGY IV) in Internal Medicine for the academic year 2015–2016.

This is a post to be offered to a resident who has completed a three-year training in a recognized Internal Medicine program, has good ranking in his/her training program, and needs yet another year before he/she can carry on with his/her career plan.

Job description:

  1. Administrative duties (preparation of the residents’ night call schedule, holiday schedule and be a member in some committees)
  2. Function as a hospitalist when needed (junior attending in the absence of the patient’s attending)
  3. Assist in residents’ and students’ evaluation
  4. Assist in conflict resolution among the house staff and between house staff and faculty
  5. Run morning report
  6. Function as liaison between residents and administration

Interested candidates are requested to submit the following:

  1. A photocopy of the applicant’s valid identity card or passport
  2. A Curriculum Vitae (CV) prepared within three months of the application
  3. Certified copy of the Medical Degree (MD) or if not applicable a Dean’s letter from the Medical School from which the applicant is enrolled
  4.  A minimum of three letters of recommendation provided by faculty members who had an academic contact with the applicant
  5. One recent, passport size, colored photograph of the applicant
  6. Score reports on steps in the United States Medical Licensure Examination or equivalent of the USMLE Step 2 Clinical knowledge (if applicable)
  7.  Score reports of the English Language Proficiency examination for the Graduates of non-English speaking medical schools.
