The Auxiliary Services Office-Beirut Campus has a vacancy for a Driver. The Driver is mainly responsible for providing transport services to University executives, faculty, staff, students and guests, and drop-off and pick-up materials related to University business, as well as delivering by-hand mail.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides transport services to all entitled LAU community from senior administration to students from/to various destinations
- Delivers by-hand mail coming from offices to suppliers, schools, universities, Alumni, etc…
- Delivers press releases to media
- Delivers inter-campuses mail and parcels
- Takes good care of the University car he is using (fuel refill, wash, routine inspection on oil level, etc…)
- Picks up / delivers the University’s daily mail from/to the Government’s Post Office early morning and hands it in to the Post Office Clerk for subsequent distribution
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as required
Required Skills and Abilities:
- BT level or equivalent
- Customer service oriented with a positive attitude.
- Capable to drive vehicle with manual transmission
- Capable to drive bus up to 30 passengers
- Able to work overtime and during holidays and weekends
- Basic knowledge of written and oral English
- Thorough knowledge of Lebanese areas and roads, especially in Beirut city
- Residing in Beirut area is a plus
