University Operations, April 1–2
Posted
Following our continued close monitoring of recent developments, the University has decided to resume its operations under the same previously adopted modalities. Accordingly, we will proceed with supporting the plans currently in motion to resume flexible online and hybrid instruction, effective tomorrow, April 1, 2026.
In line with the Provost’s recent update regarding teaching and learning arrangements, please note that we will be relying, during this period, on the continued on-campus presence of staff members across both campuses to ensure that operations and services supporting our faculty and students remain steady and uninterrupted as we work toward the successful completion of the semester.
We will continue to exercise flexibility, recognizing that circumstances may be difficult and uncertain for some members of our community. Decisions regarding on-campus working hours specific to each office, working modalities (in-person, rotation, or hybrid), and staffing levels within each department remain under the responsibility of the respective heads/supervisors. Where appropriate and in coordination with supervisors, staff may report to the Byblos campus instead of Beirut should this arrangement provide greater reassurance and accessibility. Staff members who are unable to fully attend campus are kindly requested to coordinate with their supervisors to assess the feasibility and appropriate modality of hybrid work, based on their individual circumstances and operational needs.
We also kindly remind all staff to refer to the “Time & Attendance” guidelines communicated by HR to ensure accurate and proper time recording, including on-campus presence (check-in/out), force majeure (for staff members with reduced load or inability to work remotely), remote work, and different leave categories (sick, annual, compassionate, etc.).
We deeply appreciate your resilience, cooperation, and continued dedication. Each of you plays a vital role in supporting our faculty and students, and in helping the University navigate this period with strength and unity toward the successful conclusion of the semester.
We will continue to keep you informed of any further updates.
Please stay safe and take good care of yourselves and your loved ones.
