The Department of Art & Design at the School of Architecture & Design invites applicants for a Part-Time Instructor position for summer 2017.
The candidate should have a Fashion Design Contour/Sportswear specialism or equivalent degree, as well as being a dedicated and enthusiastic professional. Ability to fit in and become part of a team is essential. She/he should combine teaching skills with an outstanding record in Contour (swimwear) practice and she/he should be aware of the latest trends. The candidate should have specialist knowledge of traditional and non-traditional outcomes for Contour/Swimwear and associated design and cutting skills.
Contour Design 3 credits
This studio introduces the specialist area of swimwear and related garments as well as stretch fabrics such as jersey and Lycra. Technical skills and considerations for working with high stretch fabrics that support the body are explored, whilst historical context forms part of the research students undertake, along with a review of the current market in developing concept, designs and range. This is especially of interest for designers who wish to expand their knowledge of this growing market within the region. Students learn through demonstrations, practical exercises and tutorials in the development of directional garments.

Minimum Requirements: Fashion Design degree with teaching experience in Contour and swimwear design.
Duration of position: This position is open for summer 2017 (May 24 till July 17)
