Visiting Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering is offering a one-year visiting assistant professor position with focus on research subject to renewal for an additional year upon satisfactory performance.  The primary responsibility of the successful candidate is to conduct research that leads to publication in reputable ISI refereed journals.  The successful candidate is also encouraged to collaborate with faculty and students in the department on research topics of common interest and help in building research teams.  At the end of the two years, the faculty in this position will have the chance to move to a tenure-track position contingent upon satisfactory performance and institutional need.  Years spent in this position can be counted towards the candidate’s promotion to the rank of associate professor. The successful candidate is also expected to teach two courses per year, which could be two sections of the same course.

Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in engineering and a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering with proven publication record.
