IWSAW Project Manager - (Part - Time position)

LAU’s Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW) is currently searching for a part-time Project Manager to oversee the “Coordination and Support for Civic Engagement Initiative (CEI) Issue Networks project” in Beirut campus.
The Project Manager will liaise with speakers and trainers; will be responsible for all logistics in regards to the different workshops, roundtables, lectures and trainings; and will be the focal point for all participating CSOs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize and prepare the different activities but also entails report writing, and donor relations
- Ensure that program activities operate in accordance with the framework outlined in the proposal
- Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization
- Ensure that program activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards
- Develop forms and records to document program activities
- Oversee the collection and maintenance of records on the clients of the program for statistical purposes according to the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization
- Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to gain support for the program and to solicit input to improve the program
- Communicate with funders as outlined in funding agreements
- Ensure that the program operates within the approved budget
- Monitor and approve all budgeted program expenditures
- Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to the Executive Director on a regular basis (bimonthly)
- Ensure that all financial records for the program are up to date
- Ensure financial reports and supporting documentation for funders are prepared as outlined in funding agreements
- Provide required information to have invoices generated and submitted to funders according to the established timelines
- Monitor the program activities on a regular basis and conduct a bi-annual evaluation report according to the program evaluation framework
- Report evaluation findings and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate
- Update to social media frequently – and include other forms of electronic outreach
- Conduct research in preparation for diverse activities
Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor degree in a related field from a renowned university. Masters is a plus.
- Proven experience in working with gender issues – work experience and/or research/academic experience
- Demonstrated ability to self-start, meet deadlines and yet be part of a team working toward a common goal
- Strong interest in gender issues, human rights, social justice
- Thorough knowledge of current events
- Ability to liaise with donors
- Proven experience to work cooperatively and in a leadership role with students, staff, faculty, and community members
- Strong leadership, and organizational skills
- Social media and computer skills essential
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic
