Launch of the LAU Vaccination Campaign

Dear members of the LAU Community,

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that, following a vigorous campaign to secure Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines for our community, we will be launching the rollout of vaccinations for LAU faculty, students and staff ahead of schedule, this Friday, June 11.

Vaccination of the community at large (non LAU constituents) will follow shortly.

Our determination to immunize and protect our LAU family would not have been possible without the concerted efforts and generosity of various entities: the Ministry of Public Health for facilitating our procurement of the vaccines, the consortium of universities for helping to bolster our common drive, and donors and friends of LAU, among whom Mr. Bahaa Hariri whose major contribution boosted our campaign from the start.

Vaccinations will take place at LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital, free of charge, and will be administered starting with priority groups (medical conditions and age) based on the internal survey conducted by the university.

Members of the community will receive an SMS from LAU VAX notifying them of their scheduled date and time to take the vaccine.

Please note that in cases where appointments are missed twice, the vaccines will be used for other individuals.

I look forward to a complete vaccination rollout so that we may start regaining our normality and welcome you all on campus in the fall, albeit with due precautionary measures.
