Academic Update and Support Measures - March 4-6 (for faculty)
Dear Faculty,
I hope this message finds you and your families safe.
Further to yesterday’s communication, I am writing to confirm the academic arrangements for this week. We recognize the challenges that these circumstances may present, and we are grateful for your continued professionalism and commitment to our students.
To support the continuation of academic activities while prioritizing safety and well-being, you are kindly asked to offer lecture-based courses online, either synchronously or asynchronously, from Wednesday, March 4 through Friday, March 6, 2026.
Classes held synchronously during this period should be recorded, and recordings made available to students who may be unable to attend the live sessions.
Laboratories and other experiential components are suspended for this week. For studios and clinical courses, specific arrangements will be determined by the respective schools and departments.
In order to provide students with needed flexibility during this period, no exams or graded assessments should be held this week. Faculty are also asked to exercise reasonable flexibility regarding attendance and participation, recognizing that students may be navigating varied personal and logistical circumstances.
For support with online delivery:
- The Center for Innovative Learning (CIL) will host a support session on Wednesday, March 4 at 10:30 a.m.
- Step-by-step videos and PDF guides are available here:
https://cil.lau.edu.lb/resources/EdTech-Tools-Tutorials.php - You may contact CIL at cil@lau.edu.lb for pedagogical support.
- Technical assistance is available through IT at helpdesk@lau.edu.lb.
We will continue to monitor developments closely and will communicate promptly should any adjustments become necessary.
Thank you for your flexibility, leadership, and continued dedication to our students and to LAU’s academic mission.
Please take care of yourselves and your families.
Sincerely,
George E. Nasr
