Part-Time Faculty Position in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Literacy

The Department of Liberal Studies at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applications for a Part-Time position in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Literacy within the renewed Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) curriculum, under the AI and Digital Cultures pillars.
We seek an innovative educator who can engage non-specialist undergraduates in understanding contemporary digital tools, foundational AI concepts, and the ethical, cultural, and social implications of emerging technologies. The successful candidate will teach courses related to AI and Digital Literacy. Teaching will be assigned on either Beirut or Byblos campuses, depending on availability.

Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching or professional practice related to AI or Digital Literacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching non-specialist and interdisciplinary audiences at the undergraduate level.
- Evidence of innovative, hands-on pedagogy or experiential teaching.
- Solid foundation in AI/ML and data engineering; familiarity with unstructured data (text, image, audio, video) is an asset.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with data visualization or analytics tools (e.g., RapidMiner, Tableau, PowerBI, …).
- Strong command of English and demonstrated collaboration, organizational, and communication skills.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to ethical and societal implications of AI and technology.
