Part-Time Faculty Statistics and Operations Management in Byblos
About the Position
The Information Technology and Operations Management (ITOM) Department at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applications for a part-time faculty position in Operations Management (OPM). The department is seeking qualified candidates who can support its teaching needs in operations-related courses, particularly in areas that strengthen the connection between analytical thinking, process improvement, operations systems, and business decision-making.
Candidates with an Industrial Engineering background are particularly encouraged to apply, given the department’s need for expertise that bridges quantitative analysis, operational efficiency, and process-oriented problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in Operations Management and related areas.
- Contribute to high-quality teaching using applied, student-centered, and technology-enhanced approaches.
- Support the department in strengthening students’ analytical and operational problem-solving skills.
- Bring practical and/or industry-informed perspectives into the classroom where relevant.
- Collaborate with the department on course coordination and continuous curriculum improvement.
Qualifications
- A graduate degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Decision Sciences, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- University teaching experience is preferred.
- Strong ability to teach Operations Management, statistics, and related quantitative or process-oriented courses.
- Industrial Engineering background is strongly preferred.
- Relevant professional or industry experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse academic environment.

About LAU
LAU was founded as a college for women in 1924, tracing its origins back to the first school for girls in the Ottoman Empire started by Presbyterian missionaries in the 1830s. The institution has grown and changed tremendously through the decades, but the enterprising and progressive spirit of those who started it endures. The mission of the Department of Information Technology and Operations Management (ITOM) is to help students at the Adnan Kassar School of Business become proficient in the fields of information systems, information technology management, business analytics, supply chain management, operations management, and related decision sciences. The Department strives to generate knowledgeable graduates who are adept at managing technology and operations and who can effectively contribute to their businesses and communities in a constantly changing environment.
