Postdoctoral Position in Artificial Intelligence & Structural Bioinformatics
A full-time postdoctoral position (18-month duration) is available immediately in the department of computer science and mathematics at the Lebanese American University.
This interdisciplinary project focuses on integrating artificial intelligence and structural bioinformatics approaches to improve drug-induced toxicity prediction. By combining machine learning approaches, particularly deep learning, with analyses of protein sequence, structure, function, and dynamics, the project aims to develop innovative computational frameworks that enhance drug safety assessment and guide rational drug design.
The position also involves collaboration with interdisciplinary research teams, contribution to high‑quality academic publications, and participation in teaching or mentoring activities as needed.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a closely related field, with strong:
· Research background in structural bioinformatics (protein structure predictions, docking, molecular dynamics simulation …) and machine learning, particularly deep learning, with proven record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
· Programming and scripting skills in Python and R, as well as experience with Linux and Bash scripting
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and pursue independent research ideas.
