Postdoctoral Research Position in Learning Analytics and Innovation

Project Title: Learning Analytics–Driven Curriculum and Pedagogical Innovation across Science, Medicine, Engineering, and Business Education

The interdisciplinary research cluster at the Lebanese American University (LAU) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join a one-year project focused on advancing innovative, evidence-based teaching and learning through learning analytics, educational technology, and immersive virtual reality (VR).

The successful candidate will work closely with faculty from the Schools of Arts and Sciences, Medicine, Engineering, and Business to support the design, implementation, and evaluation of analytics-informed pedagogical innovations across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate research activities across participating schools.
• Assist with study design, data collection, and project implementation.
• Develop and manage learning analytics datasets and dashboards.
• Support the deployment and evaluation of VR-enhanced learning activities.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative data analyses.
• Prepare ethics (IRB) documentation and maintain research compliance.
• Assist in organizing faculty workshops and dissemination activities.
• Support grant development and future external funding initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Education, Educational Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Psychology, or a related discipline.
• Experience in educational research and quantitative and/or qualitative research methods.
• Knowledge of learning management systems and learning analytics.
• Experience with statistical software such as R, Python, SPSS, or similar analytical tools.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience with virtual reality (VR), simulation-based education, or immersive learning technologies is a plus
• Experience in higher education teaching and curriculum development.

Duration

• Full-time, one-year appointment (subject to project funding and institutional policies).
