Access Services Specialist - Beirut

The Beirut Libraries - Access Services, Learning, & Research Division currently has 2 vacancies for an Access Services Specialist reporting to the Access Services Manager. These positions are based on Beirut Campus.

Role Summary

The Access Services Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting library patrons in accessing library services. Responsibilities during opening hours may include front-desk support, managing reserves and closed-stack materials, digitizing materials, supervising student workers, conducting floor checks, and maintaining collection organization.

Work Schedule

The standard work schedule is an 8-hour shift (start times may vary between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM) either Monday through Friday or four weekdays plus Saturday (Saturday shift may start between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM to meet operational opening needs). During semester breaks, an alternate morning shift may apply. To ensure adequate coverage particularly during exam periods, other peak times, or to provide backup during staff absence, flexibility is required and employees may be required to work late shifts and/or weekends.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use the stairs, along with the following: occasional light lifting, carry material and stack on shelves, and occasional opening/closing of fire doors.
