Advancement Communications Manager
The Advancement Entity / Advancement Operations Department is currently looking for an Advancement Communications Manager reporting to the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Advancement Operations. This is a central position that is primarily based on Beirut campus, with occasional commuting to Byblos campus.Role Summary
The Advancement Communications Manager is mainly responsible for developing and executing the communications campaign for LAU’s global Advancement efforts. This role will lead the development and execution of compelling communications that elevate the university’s brand, showcase its impact, and inspire philanthropic engagement across its schools, centers, and institutes. The Manager will collaborate with deans, development officers, alumni relations, and marketing teams to craft narratives that resonate with donors, alumni, and stakeholders worldwide.
This role will also work in close partnership with LAU’s New York Advancement Communications team to ensure a unified visual identity, design language, and streamline messaging and branding across continents, ensuring consistency and excellence in storytelling.
The Manager supervises the roles of Writer(s) and Graphic Designer(s).
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Works closely with the AVP for Advancement Operations to develop and execute a comprehensive Advancement communications strategy aligned with LAU’s capital campaign and institutional priorities
- Serves as the lead content strategist for campaign materials, donor proposals, stewardship reports, and case statements
- Collaborates with the New York Advancement Communications team to co-develop fundraising campaign visuals and creative assets that reflect LAU’s global identity
- Ensures consistency in design, tone, and messaging across Beirut and New York offices
- Shares responsibility for campaign branding, donor engagement materials, and digital storytelling initiatives
- Creates high-impact stories that highlight LAU’s mission, student success, faculty excellence, and institutional priorities
- Collaborates with deans and development officers to produce tailored content for fundraising initiatives across schools and centers
- Oversees production of multimedia content including videos, digital campaigns, and print publications
- Leads communications for major fundraising initiatives and donor recognition programs
- Develops messaging frameworks for donor segments across regions
- Supports stewardship efforts with personalized impact reports and donor engagement materials
- Coordinates with Alumni Relations, Stratcom, other communication teams, and advancement teams to ensure message consistency
- Manages relationships with external vendors for design, video, and digital content
- Tracks the communication budget and ensures optimal allocation of resources
- Stays updated on the latest developments and innovations in marcom tools and techniques
- Sets clear goals, expectations, and priorities for the team. Monitors individual and team performance regularly. Tracks progress against objectives and timelines
- Provides on-the-job training and coaching for team members to enhance their skills and effectiveness
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned by the direct supervisor
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in communications or marketing, out of which 3 are in a supervisory role
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication campaigns
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic
- Proven ability to translate complex academic and institutional priorities into compelling donor narratives
- Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge NXT) is a plus
- Cross-cultural communication experience and global mindset
- Collaborative spirit and ability to work across teams and time zones
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution
- Proficient in various communication tools and software
Work Schedule
The standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with possible/ occasional attendance after hours and/or during weekends/holidays to ensure business continuity. This role requires collaboration across multiple time zones.
