Annual Giving Manager
The Advancement Entity / Development Office is currently looking for an Annual Giving Manager reporting to the Vice President for Advancement. This is a central position that requires presence on both Beirut and Byblos campuses.Role Summary
The Annual Giving Manager is primarily responsible for building, supporting, and growing LAU’s annual giving program through multi-channel outreach and donor engagement initiatives. S/he communicates and coordinates with the deans of the schools and colleges, libraries, the Dean of Students, the Graduate Studies and Research, athletics director and other university special initiatives to develop annual giving outreach strategies for each semester and summer—particularly for LAU’s Giving Day and other annual giving campaigns.
S/he leverages communication and marketing methods that boost donor participation and retention and helps plan and implement campaigns in collaboration with internal teams, as needed. S/he maintains accurate donor data and reporting. By fostering a culture of philanthropy, the Annual Giving Manager strengthens alumni engagement through digital outreach, online engagement, and with oversight of LAU’s Student Engagement Center on stewardship activities, thank-you calls, and donor engagement.
S/he contributes directly to increasing donor participation to build and grow LAU’s Giving Societies loyalty programs in support of LAU’s Capital Campaign.
The manager supervises the roles of Annual Giving Coordinator and Student Engagement Center Coordinator.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Works with the VP of Advancement to design and implement annual giving strategies, including direct mail, email, digital campaigns, phonathons, and Giving Day initiatives and to design new annual giving outreach initiatives that include LAU’s schools, libraries, athletics, graduate studies & research and others, focusing on participation growth to engage alumni and friends globally, with a strong focus on increasing alumni participation and donor retention
- Sets the annual giving manager’ annual target KPIs in alignment with the Vice President, and monitor their achievement
- Closes a target figure of gifts within a set time frame. Increases alumni engagement and giving to 5% in one year
- Oversees segmentation, personalization, and scheduling for appeals across multiple channels
- Administers LYBUNT and SYBUNT outreach programs to re-engage lapsed donors and increase regular giving, coordinating closely with the Development team and Student Engagement Center for follow-up and stewardship
- Serves as the primary liaison between the Office of Advancement and LAU’s seven schools, libraries, graduate studies & research, athletics, and the Dean of Students to support and enhance their annual giving outreach
- Collaborates with the Directors of Development who oversee school and special initiatives fundraising to map out Giving Day and annual giving season strategies, including timelines, milestones, and integrated outreach plans
- Coordinates planning and execution of the Senior Class Gift program, including its matching component, by working directly with the Dean of Students office to build momentum, craft messaging, and engage student leaders
- Oversees the activities of the Student Engagement Center to ensure alignment with annual giving objectives
- Works closely with Advancement Communications to design and execute multi-channel outreach campaigns that reflect a unified culture of giving
- Works closely with the Advancement Stewardship & Donor Engagement & data analytics teams to leverage the Student Engagement Center for stewardship and donor engagement, ensuring timely updates to donor contact information and supporting database cleanup to maintain accurate constituent records
- Collaborates with Advancement Services to ensure accurate data for solicitations and reporting
- Implements stewardship plans for annual donors, including acknowledgment letters, impact reports, and recognition programs
- Coordinates with Alumni Relations and Communications to create compelling donor stories and engagement content
- Plans and execute annual giving events, including Giving Day and donor recognition activities
- Ensures alignment of student engagement activities with annual giving goals
- Facilitates cross-departmental meetings and maintains clear communication to ensure consistency in branding, scheduling, and donor engagement efforts across all units for annual giving outreach
- Monitors campaign performance, analyzes results, and adjusts strategies to meet goals
- Prepares regular reports on progress toward annual giving targets
- Sets clear goals, expectations, and priorities for the team. Monitors individual and team performance regularly. Tracks progress against objectives and timelines
- Provides on-the-job training and coaching for team members to enhance their skills and effectiveness
- Perform other duties pertinent to this job as assigned by the direct supervisor
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
- Minimum 6 years of experience in fundraising, annual giving, or a related field with proven successful execution of campaigns and events within budget and timeline, out of which 3 years are in a supervisory role
- Familiarity with digital engagement tools, annual giving platforms, and communication and marketing methods
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic
- Strong MS Office skills
- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge NXT) and digital fundraising tools
- Ability to analyze data and apply insights to strategy
- Collaborative team player with a donor-centric mindset
Work Schedule
The standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with possible/ occasional attendance after hours and/or during weekends/holidays to ensure business continuity. This role requires collaboration across multiple time zones.
