Communication Specialist
The Health Services Entity / Marketing & Communication Office is looking for a Communication Specialist, reporting to the Head of Marketing & Communication, Health Services.Role Summary
The Communication Specialist is mainly responsible for supporting the Marketing & Communication office of the LAU Health Services Entity by managing day-to-day communication needs, developing and executing communication plans, and ensuring brand consistency across all channels.
By working closely with the Head of Marketing & Communication and other team members, the specialist ensures that all communication efforts are integrated and aligned with the organization’s goals.
This role involves managing requests, advising internal stakeholders, and proactively identifying opportunities for storytelling and brand amplification across digital and traditional channels.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Responds to communication needs (e.g., social media posts, website updates, branding tweaks, event support) promptly while maintaining quality standards
- Works closely with the Head of Marketing & Communication to create communication plans that define objectives, audience, messaging, and channels. Secures stakeholder approval and oversees execution
- Builds strong working relationships with LAUHS Marketing & Communication team and service providers to deliver cohesive campaigns and content
- Works with the Web Designer and other digital specialists to manage website updates, revamps, and digital campaigns, ensuring timelines and budgets are met
- Monitors web and social media content, identifies gaps, and coordinates with the Writer for compelling storytelling and audience engagement
- Ensures all communication materials adhere to brand guidelines and reinforces the organization’s identity
- Executes plans and projects by assessing resources, setting timetables, briefing team members, monitoring and reporting on progress. Ensures projects are delivered on time and within the allocated budget
- Provides monthly status updates to the Head of Marketing & Communication on project progress and performance metrics
- Coordinates procurement processes for goods and services needed in the execution of the projects
- Handles and maintain the LAUHS Communication budget
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned by the direct supervisor
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, advertising, or any related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar integrated and digital communications capacity, preferably in the healthcare sector
- Strong understanding of branding and digital marketing strategies
- Deep knowledge of integrated communications and digital communications
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation abilities
- Familiarity with collaborative workflows and online project management tools
- Basic knowledge of graphic design, photography, and printing processes
- Strong communication skills in English and Arabic, French is a plus
Work Schedule
The standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with possible/ occasional attendance after hours and/or during weekends/holidays to ensure business continuity.
